Your responsibilities will include the following;

  • Review both production schedules and SYSPRO materials requirement planning system to determine raw material needs
  • Ensure material availability in meeting daily production demands to achieve goals and metrics.
  • Advise purchasing on any inventory shortfall to place orders and establish delivery dates and times with vendors
  • Monitor inventory levels considering changing production requirements, useful life of materials and plant storage capacity
  • Monitor inventory turns and other performance measures; make and implement recommendations for improvements
  • Maintain familiarity with the company's purchasing requirements
  • Identify potential material delays and monitor materials work flow at a work centre level 
  • Maintain feedback loop with Logistics, Warehousing, Production and Finance teams.
  • Maintain the Bill of Materials raw materials requirement for production
  • Working with Warehouse and Accounting personnel, investigate and resolve usage/physical inventory discrepancies, looking for reporting errors which would reduce the accuracy of raw material inventories

We will provide you with the tools and environment to enable you to be successful, but you will be required to;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Purchasing certificate and/or Production Planning certificate, APICS, CPIM is a plus
  • 3 - 5 years Production Planning, Plant Purchasing, and/or Logistics experience preferred
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry such as defence, automotive, consumer electronics or medical devices would be favoured
  • An understanding of Production Planning, Plant Purchasing, and/or Logistics is required
  • ERP software experience
  • Knowledge of inventory management or supply chain management principles and MRP
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communications (verbal/written) skills at all levels of the operation
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Suppliers and Purchasing personnel, as well as a strong understanding of Purchasing concepts.
  • Knowledge of plant operations and production scheduling
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Self-motivated and ability to prioritize multiple activities and manage volatile/changing conditions under time constrains
  • Strong ERP, SYSPRO preferred, user in areas of MRP/Scheduling, Inventory Management, Master Data, Warehouse Management and Production Control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
