132m is a documentary / short film about a freediver's feelings and perceptions during an official freediving DNF pool competition. A DNF (Dynamic No Fins) discipline constitutes of a "freediver travelling in a horizontal position under water attempting to cover the greatest possible distance. Any propulsion aids are prohibited." (AIDA International). Going through all stages of preparation, breathing, contraction, well-being like total confusion, the goal ot this film is to demonstrate through video and audio what it's all about. This film has a documentary portion of the freediver's competition performance as well as a reconstitution of the underwater segment.
Making-Of (BTS)…
The short film was shot every Monday after the freediving training at Cegep Du Vieux Montreal and also every Wenesday morning (7:00 AM) at the Boucherville Pool for about a month. We also had footage from San Andres, Colombia. The sound was recorded in studio for the vocals and in the pool using hydrophones. We had so much luck during the filming that making a list would be too long. It just had to be done and here it is !
