"The Listener" was shot near Fairplay, Colorado. It was a low-budget production with a crew of five. As a pseudo-documentary, common documentary techniques were employed to create a sense of authenticity. The primary equipment used includes a Canon 5D mark iii, a Røde NTG3 microphone and a Zoom f4 recorder.
