I wanted to push my gear to its limits and did so by mixing a 360 audio Ambisonics track from a purely mono Smart Lav+ mic. The Ricoh Theta S 360 camera has inbuilt stereo mic's which aren't useful for spatial audio, so all dialogue was mixed manually from the lapel.

The protractor method highlighted in the behind the scenes is something which I thought of myself when trying to create my own mix. Having no reference points in ambisonic space, and empty 4 channel tracks in Premiere, trying to locate exact positioning was tricky. So the Behind the Scenes video also serves as a possible guide for others to help in following the same path.

Being a big fan of immersive audio, the Dolby Atmos speaker configuration was mapped out into ambisonic space from the placement of the camera and a demonstration was conducted simulating object-based audio in 360 VR. Providing an "as close to real as possible" experience, taking a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound layout and converting it to stereo speakers for the viewer/listener as they look around.

As for Video, there was the masking of 3 separate monoscopic clips to result in a seamless frame consisting of three of myself interacting in the room at the same time. This took many takes of queue/trigger words, walking to different markers and eye line being followed to create the illusion of an actual interaction taking place. Titles and animations were not only skewed to fit in the space, but also warped into placement for post spherical stitching.
